Testimonials
"My daughter took Shakespeare Seminar her freshman year and thoroughly enjoyed it! She entered the class with an appreciation for Shakespeare, but this class expanded her knowledge of him both as a playwright and a poet. Her favorite parts were reading the plays aloud in class -- and acting out her favorite scene in Macbeth in front of an appreciative audience! This helped the world of the Bard truly come alive for her. My daughter highly recommends this class, saying it's both academically challenging and creatively stimulating -- and that Tanya Robinson is a fun and engaging teacher."
"In the past, my son and daughter have not had an affinity for English classes, reading or writing, but they really enjoyed Ms. Tanya's World Literature class. She did a great job of helping them understand and interact with different books and short stories. They grew a lot in their appreciation for literature and in their writing skills. My kids will continue to take classes with Ms. Tanya!"
"This was my favorite class I took this year. I felt like I drastically improved my writing, comprehension, and essay writing, and learned to understand classic literature."
"My daughter took Tanya Robinson’s Literature’s Search for God last year. As an eighth grader, she was reluctant at first to sign up for a high school class but, with reassurance from Tanya, my daughter agreed to give it a try, as she had already taken all the necessary writing courses - and it didn’t hurt that she loved to read. I was pleased that the class reading list included all classics that my daughter wouldn’t otherwise choose to read on her own. They are books that I had read as a student in public school but I very much appreciated that the discussions were from a Christian worldview. My daughter was able to interweave biblical themes in her papers and look at the author’s views in comparison to a Biblical worldview. The writing prompts were appropriate and encouraged the students to analyze beyond the obvious. Her corrections were always encouraging and she was always sensitive to those who were more reluctant to participate in class discussions. She was able to draw them out and provide a setting where the students can discuss comfortably with each other. I highly recommend Tanya’s class to all high schoolers looking for a solid English class."
"My daughter took Ms. Robinson's English Lit class last year and absolutely loved it! The class was so well thought out and the book choices were very thoughtful. I really appreciated the varied types of projects offered. Ms. Robinson is an excellent communicator and great teacher. Would highly recommend!"
"I like how the subjects we talk about in class go beyond the just the events of the books we are reading, how we analyze different parts and see the true symbolism the author was implying. And also, how we get feedback on our writing assignments! My biggest pet peeve in teachers is when they just give you a score and don't correct any issues they see."
"You are a great teacher with lots of warmth and genuine care. [name] loves you. You have very clear expectations and have organized class information very well on Google. The content and pace of the class is exactly what I was looking for too. I would trust you to teach anything, and my kiddo would be in good hands."
"Mrs. Robinson is an excellent teacher. Our son studied World Literature with her. The books were varied, interesting and quite thought provoking. The assignments helped him grow in his critical thinking skills and become a better writer getting him one step closer to being ready for college. Mrs. Robinson is a thorough and constructive grader and gives the most detailed comments that he’s received on his writing assignments thus far."
