Tanya Teaches
FAQ
Where do you teach?
I teach at two locations (please check the class description to see the location of that class):
EIE Resource Center: 2640 S. Myrtle Ave., Monrovia, CA. 91016
and
FUNdamentals Homeschool Co-op: 805 First Avenue, Arcadia, CA 91006
Do you accept charter school funds?
Yes, I am a vendor for Sky Mountain Charter School (Tanya Robinson).
I can accept many other charter schools by using Home School Coaches.
What age level are your classes?
My classes are aimed for grades 9-12. However, if you have a middle school student who can handle the reading level, vocabulary, and themes, then that student is welcome in my class. Regardless of age, if you or your student do not like the book titles of my class, then I would recommend that you sign up for one of my other classes.
Why/how do you choose the titles that you teach?
I have a post where I explain my thoughts on reading good literature here.
Do you provide the books?
No, you provide the books that are on the book list. I will provide any supplemental poems, speeches, etc. You may purchase your books used or new, or you may borrow from a library. Most of the time any publication will work well. If there is a specific version that we need to use, I will let you know on the book list.
How do I register?
Please contact me so that I can send you a copy of my policies and syllabus information along with a link to register if you like what you see.
What forms of payment do you take?
I take Zelle, Venmo, cash, and even old-fashioned checks. Details are in the syllabus information and the registration link.
Do you offer discounts for your classes?
Yes, if you choose to pay with your own funds instead of charter school funds, you will receive a discount. I know how expensive homeschooling can be when you are paying for everything yourself!
I have a great idea for a class. Will you teach it?
Please feel free to contact me with any fun class ideas you have! If I think I can do a good job with it, I will offer it!
What other services do you offer?
In addition to the classes that I teach at the two locations, I am open to tutoring and proofreading. I have also conducted individualized small group "classes" where a few families join together and we study a book of their choice. Contact me for more information regarding these highly individualized options.
How do your proofreading services work?
I charge a flat fee to proofread an essay (or other written work). The fee is based on the length and scope of the piece. Once we establish what is needed for your situation, you can email me your work, I will edit it, give comments, etc. and then send it back to you.
